i got zapped by my camera !!

what where you doing? taking it apart?

a camera's flash circuit has a pretty big capacitor that is charge by a pretty wild step up transformer. i wouldn't imagine it would hurt too much, but you could indeed get a little zap from it.
 
you can et killed too if you are not so lucky.
the small cameras have flashes usually close to 400V and use caps around 100uF, so the energy stored in the cap is around 8J wich is big enough to hurt you preety much. normally the cap has a small resistor wich it is discharged trough when you turn the camera off.
