If it's a general question, well, it takes attending a university on electrical engineering for 5 years, and you will know the answer partially.
Then a few year's designer experience could still back it up to come into fuller understanding...
So if you're in the first semester, or not even a student, it's still too early to ask such questions.
Since when and why does it take so many years to learn how a simple transistor circuit works and how to design a circuit, how to read transistors' ratings then select one???gerenis said:kate r u kidding or it's for real?

A 2N3904 or BC548 as an NPN, or 2N3906 or BC578 as a PNP will work in about 85% of transistor circuits and a 2N3055 or MJ2955 power transistor will work in most of the remainder. Designing a simple circuit for a FET or Mosfet transistor will take only a few more minutes of study.
You know about her next question: "Why do all my LEDs burn out?"Edigate said:I think we should stop discussing Kate's post. Kate probably cant remember she posted such a question. Lets wait for her next post.
