Hi,
That is just a tricky question to confuse you. A flip flop is same as a bistable multivibrator. Usually a bistable multivibrator is called as flip flop when it is used in digital circuits.
You can easily design a bistable multivibrator using 555 by make use of its RESET pin. Just connect 2 button switches to TRIGGER and RESET pins along with pull up resistors. When you make the trigger pin LOW, the output of 555 becomes HIGH and when you make the reset pin LOW, the output becomes LOW.

The question is even trickier because the term 'flip-flop' is used loosely and there are monostable, bistable, and astable forms. Check out Wikipedia.
Since this is 'Homework help' and not 'Homework done for you', what are your best efforts so far with this problem?

You need to ask for a better definition of the question. I think you could make a set / reset flipflop but not s D type flipflop. As alec said we will only help you with the answer not give you the answer.

Les.
