How to figure out the value of a capacitor?

Hi there!
I`m analysing a circuit, but cant figure out the value of a cap, it has got no polarity and the only text that is printed on it says:"2A473J." Anybody know the value of this cap? Its the flat rectangular green type, used in a low voltage circuit, around +20V.

I would guess 47nF polyester capacitor.

Yes, 473 is 47nF.

The default unit for capacitor values is picofarads. So 473 corresponds to 47 x 10^3 pF.

Use a multimeter.
