I Doubt the Audio would work.
The Pressure on the Reciever at 300m deep would seriously Limit its Reception.

Nige's suggestion might be worth trying with a twist.

A ferrite loopstick aerial from an am pocket radio works in the magnetic domain, if your transmitter also uses a tuned loop you might get better results underwater, sort of a similar thing that potholers use.

This is out of my comfort zone, but what about a scalar wave transmitter?
