How do you like Eagle for 8 or more layer boards?

I'm facing an 8 layer layout, and it would be my first time in applying Eagle specifically to more than 4 layers. I'm not new to layout with older tools like PADS and others. How successful is Eagle at displaying 8 layers and making it relatively easy to visualize traces and so on? In other words, is Eagle OK for so many layers or is it too crude?
