**broken link removed**

I only do not understand part b,how can I find the pass and stop bands when all I know is the transition band? Is it something I have to read of that diagram?

Even after looking at the solutions I have no idea what they are doing,it looks to me like they are just randomly selecting values, please help!

Thanks alot! :D

Hello there,

Didnt you have a book to start with to look this up? I would think you would have a book to look up something like:
"The Design of FIR Filters".

My book defines the width as 8*pi/N, which in your example comes out to 0.15686*pi.
I didnt look back to see how they calculated that however, but it varies with the Window type.
