Heat resistant glove for soldering

I use the JML heatproof oven gloves for heavy duty heat protection.. They will withstand upto 350 degrees C for 15 seconds.. And I occasionally take them higher when disassembling plumbing pipework..

There are plenty on ebay!!

For my normal soldering, I just rely on holding the iron correctly. I can even do 805 SMD's with no probs!!!!

Just one tip for ANY heatproof protective items... DO NOT GET THEM WET...
Water will turn to steam amazingly quickly, and the burns are fekkin painful..

There shouldn't be any blobs of solder to splash you?.

......Ya know, he's right...I didn't even think about that one
When soldering you should have the solder melt into the joint...if you have blobs of solder falling all over the place you are not at high temp at the joint yet and/or you are using too much solder in the joint..........

When disordering, use a spring loaded pump.

The yellow/blue one broke first and so I went back the solver one which seems to have more of a kick to it but works longer......
