Ok. I recently got into electronics (2 months ago) and ive been teaching myself. I have a grasp of most of the basics, but i was looking for some reading material, preferably on ICs and transistors. Also, ive just started working with a 555timer IC, and i was wondering how i could hook it up to a relay.

First, a few questions:

What is the relay coil voltage and resistance?
What voltage do you want to run the 555 on?
Do you want the relay pulled in when the 555 output (pin 3) is high or low?

im running the 555 on 5 volts

You didn't answer the important questions:

What is the relay coil voltage and resistance?
Do you want the relay pulled in when the 555 output (pin 3) is high or low?
