Maxim makes a counter/display chip called ICM7224 which will drive 4 1/2 digits of LCD by itself, or if you connect two or more chips together ("cascade") you can get more digits. You'll also need a timebase circuit and a display, but that's about it. JB

what i have is a kit by diy kits...kit # 36 https://www.a1parts.com/newkits/ and i'd like to know if there is any way to convert this over to a frequency counter....according to the data sheet it is possible..but i'm a newbie to electronics and have very minimal knowledge ....i need it count go from 0-30 khz...i would apreciate any help you could give ...thank you
