Hey,
I was wondering, is it at all possible, to program a PIC to recieve data from a floppy drive, so i can then do whatever with the data?
I know it would be very slow, and would like to know if it can be done or not.
Thanks

Hi, if your hopeing to just hook up a Floppy Drive straight to the PIC its not that easy, i would recomend using a controller, here are some links that would tell u how to interface with them.
http://www.rs6000.ibm.com/resource/technology/chrpio/floppy5.mak.html
http://debs.future.easyspace.com/Programming/Hardware/FDC/floppy.html

However, i would recoment using an IDE device (HDD or zip or somthin), this are very simple to interfaces (the cable is literrally an ISA bus) and there is no shortage of help due to all the MP3 player projects.

yeah...

i also want to be able to communicate whit a floppy...drive..

its cheap device...
and very robuust...

soo can you tell me how far you are..whit your project..??
