FFC/FPC to 16 pin ic socket

Hello

I got a 16 pin ffc/fpc connector and I want to attach it with 16 pin ic socket.

What would be the right way to do it? By soldering? Is there any adapter available?

I'd not try to use a connector like that without it being properly mounted to a PCB, it could break or the contacts separate from the body.

You can get ready made adapter boards from many places such as ebay, amazon, aliexpress etc.
eg.
