FAN7530 PFC controller: Alternatives or UK suppliers

Hi all,
I've got a board here with a dead PFC controller, a Fairchild FAN7530, which I need to replace.
This seems to be unavailable from any of my usual UK suppliers (RS, Farnell) so I was wondering if anyone knows of an equivalent alternative or somewhere (other than eBay) where I might be able to buy one?

For reference, I've been through the list of parts that RS do stock and none of the following appear to be a suitable drop-in replacement:

I think that the FAN7930: https://www.fairchildsemi.com/datasheets/FA/FAN7530.pdf is a direct replacement for the FAN7530: https://www.fairchildsemi.com/datasheets/FA/FAN7930B.pdf

The FAN7930 is available from DigiKey for example: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/fairchild-semiconductor/FAN7930BMX/FAN7930BMXCT-ND/3687190

Close, but I don't think it's quite right (or am I missing something?). The 7530 uses pin 2 to set the slope of the internal ramp generator, whereas the 7930 uses it as the input to the over-voltage protection comparator.

These Failchild parts seem to be a bit unusual in that they don't require a sensing network from the rectified mains - this seems to be related to what they describe as the "voltage-mode" rather than "current mode" control... I've not read the datasheet in enough depth to really understand this yet. Nevertheless, there are lots of parts which have a line-voltage sensing input on pin 3 and compensation on pin 2 - but irritatingly that's no help to me!

...I suppose I could put in a 7930 and just leave OVP pulled low. As long as the oscillator was in the right range it should work...

Oh dear, I missed that point, but I must admit that I didn't check every detail of the two chips.:)

But your work-around should allow you to use a FAN7930.
