Electrosmog meter: Electric field sensor identification ?

I disarmed an electrosmog meter TES, and watch that it has 3 electric field sensors but I can not identify them. Anyone know what type of sensor can be?

A meter that measures smog? Does it "see" the smog or does it smell it?
I think smog today is produced by Volkswagen diesel powered cars. One went past me yesterday in a stinky cloud of black soot. I think it is fuelled with coal.
