dvd reading no disc

any ideas about repairing a dvd having an error NO DISC!
I have already replaced the ribbon cable still NO DISC error!
I have seen a burnt resistor I have already replaced it & still NO DISC any ideas! thanks!

I would have to agree with nigel. Everytime i have had a problem with a dvd player, it has ended up being the lazer eye. Fixing the eye is pretty point less. You are better off just buying a new dvd player.
