Decoding FSK

I need some help in deciding on who to decode FSK.

Should i use a hardware decoder or software??

Have anyone done this before? like in here. Im planning on building a HAM APRS receiver that dont need a sound card to process the signals, using a PIC18F something.

Im open for sugestions

Simple option is an NE567 tone decoder chip.
