CPLD output problem

It really depends on the cpld. post your part number or read the datasheet. For expample, Atmel cpld (one family) shows it will source 2mA and sink 8mA, while Altec devices are somewhere between 30 and 60 mA, depending on the Vol voltage you can live with.

If you are using a high efficiency LED (like the D155) that only needs 2mA, you are ok, but with a run of the mill 10-20mA LED, you'd need a buffer, depending (again) on the cpld you are using.
