Couple Questions

So I'm kind of new to electrical wiring and I'm trying to build a guitar pedal, but I have a few questions about the schematic...All the things I don't understand I circled.**broken link removed**

Also, what is an operational amplifier and how would I wire that?

All the nodes labeled V+ connect together; as do all the ones labeled Vr, resectively.

The two diodes are 1n914s or 1n4448s as shown on this data sheet

The opamps are usually two per package. Here is the data sheet with pinouts for the TL072, for example
