Hi there, I have a project file that doesn't open. When you try to open it it gives the following error: The file "<filename>" cannot be opened. Check that the file name and path are correct. Check that the file format is recognized by microsoft project blah blah blah.

What project file, from which application?

If there is many files for the project, you may be able to retrieve essential ones and recreate project itself.

Looks like the file may have moved either accidentally or otherwise. Do a search for it.

Mike.

Sometimes you can open a new blank file.
Set the calculation to manual.
From the insert menu, insert the file.
If this succeeds then copy all the tasks and paste into another file.

If it doesn't then start looking for a backup/older version of the file
