Magnet,
allaboutcircuits.com is all about circuits. It has a good database of study materials especially for students. That'll boost up your knowledge. Do not blame it.

Yeah Ayaska, don't write off all about circuits =) All PHP boards essentially look the same. Electro-Master has done some work here to customize thing but most people just throw up the stock software and run it, cause it's free and it works right 'out of the box'. There forums are new. The site is good because if you look at the top of the page you'll see Vol1-6 buttons which is where the REAL site is, lots of good basics and practical stuff for people that aren't in school and learning electronics on their own.

I"m not on it yet so it cant be that great.

I guess I will have to check it out! :)

Why do you think allaboutcircuits sux? I go there after I finish here. They are a little more tolerant of students, homework, and term projects, but still expect to see some indication that the student attempted to solve the problem before asking for help. Many of the regulars here, are also on allaboutcircuits. Should give it another look, and a little more time. Just like here, they get into some pretty heated discussions over the 'alternative-science' free energy schemes people dig up.

This looks like it became your first official "catch hell and piss on you" thread! :p

I guess this means your one of the family now! Congradulations you did it in just 89 posts! :):D:)

And you did it without using politics or religious belief referances! A+ for origionality! :p:D:)

Actually tcmtech, I'm not defending the forum, just the static content they offer =)

Well I didn't like allaboutcircuits because every thread I saw had a very small number of replies.. No one seemed to help the newbies there!

Well I'm sorry for blaming that site.. but I'm sooo obsessed with electro-tech that I lost my temper when I saw another one

Hehe! Thnx... (This was for me right?!)

One of the recent topic is "AAC is a great site" seems the poster doesn't have a look at electro-tech ;)
They've a special "Homework Help" section also that should be attractive for students.

There's been talk of adding a section like that here too. The problem is that the majority of annoying one post wonders usually don't pay enough attention to notice.

Might still be worth a shot though. I like the idea.

Look through the links at the top as Sceadwian said, and check out the free online book on electronics that's there. It's great.

Although I think most people find the forums at AAC first, it's really about the book. Well, it's really about electronics but read that book too. While you're reading it you will have questions, which you can ask about in the forums there. That's not the only way to make a good impression there but it's not a bad one either. ;)

Give the site time. The longer you're on the net, the more sites you'll find which look a lot like this one. It's just a popular forum software look.

Torben

hehe. That kind of thing would be fine with me except for that final plea. Although I have to say, that one could just be looking for someone to say "No, look harder at questions x, y, and z". The bit in caps at the end makes me wonder though.

But I know what you mean. :)

The poster could have at least given his answers, which he did not. This is blatant cheating in my book, and as a student myself, I resent these people. I work hard for my grade. Can I say damit?...:)
