controlling Displays

yes I had those thoughts too, the only need for "descrete" displays would be compact designs, I was aiming for that but now i see the scope will probably go for the HD44780 modules, I've just ordered 10 for £ 1.20 each so can't really go wrong, power consumption is just 1 mA
