I'm using the MSCC and got stuck when trying to setup timer one.

This is what I see,

I've set the main clock to 32M but it seems to insist on using 32k as the timer1 clock.

Looking at just going back to doing everything from the datasheet.

Maybe this will make more sense in the morning after the beer and wine has worn off. It normally does!!!

Check the notifications tab for possible errors.
I just checked the MCC timer 1 setup on a Q43. Looks normal here.

Morning time and it all makes complete sense now. An 8MHz clock will clock timer1 every 125nS. I was thinking (last night) that it should be pS!!!! As you were. I also realise the calculated period is counting up to zero.
