Ceiling Fan Regulator

Hi guyz.. i need to design a 5 speed ceiling regulator but without using step down transformer. I want to make it work while using capactors, triac, resistors etc n the main thing is it worked at 220v ac and cycles/hz must remain at 50 cycles/hz at all speeds. can any body give me the circuit design?

Assuming it's a shaded pole motor you can use a standard lamp dimmer circuit.


If you buy a lamp dimmer then you'll be able to vary the speed from near zero to full speed continuously which is much better than having five steps and is much easier to do.
