The principle behind the start/run winding on a PSC motor is it provides a degree of phase shift in the start winding WRT the run winding, the phase angle difference is a produced by the value of the cap and the inductive reactance of the winding, the ideal is a 90° shift.
The value required is not super critical, the slight increase you May have in current should not be a concern.
