Is there anything special about the capacitors used to tune the primaries of the transformers in ccfl inverters? They seem to dissipate heat, and an ordinary mixed dielectric doesn't last long......
No idea off the top of my head, but I'd like to help somehow. Have you got one taken apart that you could take a photo of the capacitor in question? Seeing it up close in detail might help at least identify the packaging and technology and we might even get a part number.
