Well, the confusion thickens. To combat the ambiguity, A basic QR code could be printed on a component, which as a minimum would provide a path to the manufacturer's identification data. Just a thought...

Totalmente de acuerdo. Deben hacer cumplir las leyes, leyes que ya existen para facilitar la identificación de los componentes.
