Hi,
I like to ask what the size relationship is between the npn junction area in a BJT such as a BC549, verses a front-end junction of a bipolar IC such as LM386.

In general, I always assumed the dedicated BJT was bigger. It would be like the difference between a MOSFET in a microprocessor and a dedicated transistor.
