Beginners question on parallel circuit

I'm having an issue creating a parallel circuit with some small LED's. I'm using 470 ohm resistors and individually the LED's work, however when I put them in parallel at 5v the flicker or just don't come on. The picture show the set up with some temporary electrical tape to prevent shorting

What is the supply voltage measured when they are all connected ?

Is what you call parallel like this ?

I'm reading 5v between soldered rails. I modelled my circuit after this

A positive rail that all resistors are attached and a negative rail for the negative led.

What color LEDs? If white/blue, they need about 3V across them, meaning the dropping resistors for 10mA current should be about 220 ohms.

ledcalc.com

Use that calculator for parallel LEDs, and it should calculate the proper resistance. I suspect your 470 ohm is a bit high in value
