Automotive VSS Sine to Square &1/2 Needed

Here's what I have an 80's model GM vehicle with a Vss sine signal coming in

I can supply
VSS
VSS
12V+
GND

I need to convert this 4000 Pulse Per Mile Sine Wave to a Square Wave and output that to a speedometer.
I also need to output a 2000 Pulse Per Mile Square Wave as well. Any Ideas.

Use a simple opamp comparator to convert to a square wave.

If the VSS is an AC signal then bunging in a diode before the opamp comparator will give half the pulses per mile.

You can use a schmitt trigger like a 74HC132 to make the square wave from the sine wave.

A 74HC393 will divide by 4 to give you 2000 pulses per mile.
