any limit to CBLOCK variables?

Is there any limitation to the numbers of cblock variables you can define?

where does cblock 0x20 points to actually?

On some PICs (check the datasheet) 0x20 is the start of user RAM
You're only limited by the RAM space available.

i can see from the spec that 16f628 has 224bytes available ram. does it mean I set a total of 224 variables? or does the RAM also shares something else? do constants go in RAM too?

Look at the 628 datasheet,page 14... www.microchip.com

The 16F are bank switched into 4 banks plus 8 bytes RAM that share all banks.
