A 2N3684 is a junction field-effect transistor with a 50V, 50mA rating.
Most little Jfets have a 25V rating.
In the amplifier will it ever have more than 25V across it?
If 20V is max then you should be able to use any 25V Jfet that has a similar amount of biased current.
Why does the amplifier use a Jfet? Please post its spec's and its schematic.
