I'm currently using LM317 and LM337 as adjustable positive and negative regulators but they are only 1.5A rated. Anyone can point me to "bigger" replacement (6A preferable, 3A will do)

speakerguy79, thanks ... just found them:
LT1033 (negative 3A regulator)
LT1083 (7.5A positive regulator)

and company ...

never used them before so this is going to be fun

thanks guy's

Just be sure to follow the output capacitor recommendations. Don't use ceramics or very low ESR electrolytics and tantalums for the output cap. A big electrolytic (>100uF) with .2 to .5 ohms ESR would probably be good.

Micrel 5A and 7.5A regulators

You can opt for Micrel MI29500 or MIC29750 which are rated 5A and 7.5 A respectively.

Request parts from Micrel for evaluation.
