I have an AC split unit with 2.25 HP
Whenever the AC is started , the fan starts normally but when the compressor starts to run, the protection fuse trips.
I replaced the fuse but same problem
The fuse is 26 amp rating

The AC used to run normally for 5 years under the same fuse

What are the reasons that might lead to draw that high starting current?

Regards
Tajuddin

Yes, Particularly if it happens to have a start cap as well as a run cap, the start cap is only intermittent rated.
Max.
