7 segment display

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read and reply.

I have a fuction generator that I built from a kit. Works great for what I use it for. I cannot find the schematic for it. The only thing I would like to add is a display so i don't have to use a frequency counter first.

How would I start to plan to do somthing like this. Is this possible

So buy a frequency counter kit, they're quiet common, it's a very simple first time project for people starting with micro controllers too, the benefit of the micro over discrete IC's is accuracy and simplicity.
