The ultimate goal is to construct a mechanical vibrator that continually sweeps through a band with of frequencies.

The parameters for this vibrator is that it run at about 1/2hz to 30hz.

The sweep rate should be adjustable. It would also be nice to have an adjustment for the duty cycle as well.

The circuit should recycle after it reaches the end of the sweep.

I plan to energize an electric magnet to interact with a non-electric magnet to set up a mechanical vibration.

My questions are about how to make the 555 sweep through these frequencies. I think I can handle the output of the timer.

Any ideas or directions?
