433 mhz module testing

i have a problem, i have a 433 MHz transmitter / receiver pair module. they are lying around for about an year. now i have no means of testing them. how can i test them? any help ??

Yo magnatro,
You can test the output using a DMM. If you apply a HIGH at the transmitter's Tx pin, the Rx pin of the receiver will also go high.

Next phase will be testing them by applying a pulse and a check using an scope.

Then you can use 'em by using the UART feature in microcontrollers.

i think my modules are fried. they do not respond to any signal .

are you sure?
The OUT terminal of your receiver is the RX. Have you checked that? How about the supply? GND?

i have a total of 3 receivers and 5 transmitters. all are not functioning properly, i have a query, these things come in pairs. will it work with other modules having the same frequency (433 MHz)?

i had tried the first method, sending a bit 1 through the module. but, its not received on the other end. i checked if there is any signal from my module by tuning my tv to 433 Mhz, but no artifacts . is there any other method?

Don't turn them on all at once. That'll jam the receivers. Supply one transmitter and one receiver only. Then you apply a voltage (I usually just use a 3V supply with a 1k resistor in series and apply the voltage on the Tx pin.)

As for the TV, I wouldn't bet that it'll poke the TV receivers. They have their own modulation and filters and all those monsters inside.

Perhaps it will but that's beyond me. But test those modules again bro. They should function accordingly unless you tweaked with something else.
