Hi All

I am trying to genereate a low frequency- 15Hz staircase square wave using a PIC18f8722 development board along with a DAC (AD7840) which can be used in either parallel or serial input mode.

I am right now considering to implement it by changing the parllel input bits values at output port after a time delay 33ms.

Do you think this is a good way of doing it. Please suggest a method if this sounds crude.

Thanks

1Hz is incredibly slow, you could do it with any processor, you could almost do it with clockwork.

Have you considered an R"R ladder, just an opamp and a few resistors.

What is a "staircase square wave"? If you mean a triangle wave then you will have to output samples at around 500kHz to get the full 14 bit resolution at 15Hz.

Mike.
