ZEXEL 12V thing, what is it?

    i have this ZEXEL 12v thing, it is from a car, but i don't know what it is, i was hoping somebody can tell me.

    My guess is that its from a japanese car, they make a lot of injector pumps and ancilliary items. Maybe a suppressor or interference deelie?

    it from Mazda car.
    i think also that it is a lamp ballast, because it had picture of a hand with red line over it, like you are not sopose to touch it.

    It could be as simple as being a power resistor. There are only two wires, and it doesn't look like it has an earth connection to the mounting lugs. Also the braided wire insulation and what looks like a ceramic spacer where the wires go in imply it runs hot. It could be for running light or dim -dip headlights (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automotive_lighting#Dim-dip_lamps)
