Hi everyone!

Just posting this in case you guys haven't heard, but Texas Instruments has now purchased National Semiconductor. They are now one company.

Just wanted to let you guys know.
Regards,
Der Strom

Any name change - or just "Texas Instruments" still?

"Texas Semiconductor"?
"National Instruments"?

...whatever - a passing of an era (what with two of NS's most competent engineers dying earlier and all as well)...

:(

The first thing to worry: what would be the products that will be discontinued as a consequence. When one buys the other or even when they merge, some are always left behind.

Bad, very bad.

Very good points, guys.

Crosh, I believe it's still going to be called Texas Instruments, but I am not completely sure.

Atferrari, hopefully none will be left behind, but only time will tell...

That's old news. They were going to operate as independent companies was the last I heard. Essentially what they are now. What it really means is they can share IP. Analog devices bought Precision Monolithics for that reason.
