Q.How to use a switch to move the drive of a 12v dc motor with pointer to point to position A or B only, using a small switch for those same positions A or B, with a light coming on at A only? What parts? Circuit diagram ? Where to source in Sydney NSW Australia?

How about this? The switches all need to be rated to carry the max motor current at start-up, at 12V DC. I have assumed you want the light (LED) to come on and stay on when the pointer reaches A, until the pointer moves away from A. U2 and U3 control the movement. If both are operated at the same time the motor doesn't move; nothing bad happens. U1 and U4 are limit switches (as Nigel mentioned).
