Digikey has them
Search for PCB the select filter "Positive coated sensitized copper clad"
They have about 17 to pick from.

Do not if it is a good place to buy them, prices are about $5 to $50

im choosing photo for the following reasons:

1. Never have worry about mirroring image
2. Can use inkjet
3. reusable print outs
4. no irons / heat

Each method has its advantages and disadvantages and can work well. It is easy to make a list of points why one should use one or the other.

The downsize to presensitized boards is the cost, but there is a way to reduce that too. Maybe you recall that a member perfected the process of spraying photo resist by holding the board vertical and letting the excess drip off? But it makes sense to get the process working with the coated boards first. Good luck.

thanks alot i do remember that post from that member. The cost is truly a downside but in my own opinion the quality i have seen from photo etching is beautiful. And like you said... i just posted why i chose it incase someone wanted to know my reasons. Thanks again 3v0 for reminding me about that post ... your always helpful :D

Glad to help.

It takes a few more bucks to get setup for toner transfer if you need to buy a laser printer and/or a laminator. Some do without the laminator which is OK but not the way I suggest people start. The laminator takes the guesswork out of making the process work.

The limiting factor with toner transfer is the laser printer. You can only transfer what you can print. It is as good as I need for now. Could change as I go into SMD stuff but I may use a board house so I can get plated through holes. The one run by Sparkfun looks good if you are not in a hurry.

Have fun.

i would mostly use a "board house" only if purchasing in bulk mainly because of price and time. Prices arent too bad but the wait isnt too good. Also if there are errors in your board you wont know until you try it so imo opinion i would make 1 board myself and if all is well then buy bulk if needed.

I too want to get into SMD stuff due to compact size and nice look to it.
Also im getting into making moldings soon and stuff to make custom enclosures.
I plan to make with a clay and harden it then make a molding and reproduce it with liquid plastic.

Looks like alot of fun! :D

I get my board stock from Circuit Specialists. Here's a link ...

They have all kinds of other stuff, too.

thanks i was actually going to purchase from them:
Fluorescent PCB Exposure System (416X)
Photofabrication Kit [UPS Ground Only] (416K)

Comes out to about $88 with s/h which i find to be the cheapest price so far for all im getting.

I was wondering if this was a trust worthy place ... i guess 1 out of 1 people say go for it so far :D

If you are talking about circuit specialists, I have dealt with them and been really satisfied.
