Dear All,

As part of my college work I have to give an example on a typical control
application, using PICS

assignment = house enviroment control
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have to simulate the temperature rising (possible via a variable resistor)

If the temperature rises above a set limit a fan will come on
(PIC algorithm)

in real life the temperature will eventually go down,
this will be seen by the sensor.

PROBLEM - Since I am using a variable resistor, the new cooling down temperature will not be seen, since the variable resistor will be still set at the inital temperature.

HOW CAN I SHOW MY ASSIGNMENT WORKING, IN A PRESENTATION???

Any ideas???

extension

How can I demonstrate the temperature controller:

temp sensor - PIC - FAN

without using real sensors and fans

I was hoping to use a LED to represent the FAN
a PIC

I donot know what to use to simulate the sensor

All the Best

As it's only a demonstration, simply move the variable resistor when the LED goes on - or use a real thermistor and a real fan!.

Presumably you're already manually moving the variable resistor to simulate an increase in temperature?, so manually moving it back to simulate a drop when the LED lights is no different.
