I'm missing something for 1/[(5*10^-3)(0,01*10^-6)

Hello, I hope someone can help me out a bit..

I'm doing some exercises and I fail at understanding 1/[(5*10^-3)(0,01*10^-6)

I do the maths:

(5*10^-3)(0,01*10^-6 = (5000 * 0,01)*10^-9 = 50 * 10^-9, right? ***edit: My mistake was resolving the first bracet alone first

Now it's 1/50*10^-9 but what is that 1/ ??? ***0,05 not 50***

The answer is 2*10^10 but I don't know how :S




50*10^-9 m= 0,000 000 05

So 1/000 000 05 = 20 000 000

And 20 000 000 to me is 2x 10^7 since I took the decimal 2 and "moved the coma" 7 times to get to 20 000 000

I need a little help please!

You have only one square bracet.

Assuming everything exept 1 is under the line, then result is 20000000000

Edit: Sorry, I miscalculated likea fool, I said 5000 * 0,01 when I should just have done 5*0,01=0,05*10^-9

So 1/0,05*10^-9=0,000 000 000 05

1/0,00000000005= 20 000 000 000
