A/D question

Does a PIC only register voltages between 0 and +5v for A/D conversion or will it do -2.5v to +2.5v?

It can't handle negative voltages safely. However an external op amp circuit can be made to add an 'offset' to convert any negative voltage range to a 0v output. Also any range greater then 0-5v can be attenuated down be a simple resistor voltage divider.
