Does anyone know what the XICOR 9616 8 legged eeprom shouls be read as .I read it as a 2408 on seeprog ,but dont want to write into it until i'm sure ,incase i damage the data .It is from a dashboard ,that i bought for my car after a fire & i need to correct the mileage .I have the dumps available 1 original & 1 with 1km more on the clock ,so you can see the difference .Any help with this would be appreciated

Download the datasheet from Xicor, and compare it to the 2408, although if it's a similar sized I2C EEPROM, it's extremely likely to conform to the same standard.

re eeprom programming

Would it be possible for you to look at these dumps for me & re write them .I will be happy to pay you something for the time .If you have pay pal i could pay you instantly ,say £30 pounds .

re xicor eeprom

I found this info using some other numbers on the chip -
Part Number 4652005
Desc DIP-8
Brand XICOR

Re: re eeprom programming

What's to look at?, I thought you just wanted to copy one to the other?, for that matter why not just change the chips over?.

If you're wanting to alter the milage, for which there's no legal reason to want to do!, the data is sure to be encrypted!.
