x10 home automation

I am a student studying in Malaysia currently doing a project on x10 home automation. I found a thread in this forum that is posted few years ago saying that x10 is not allowed in Malaysia where TNB will cause interference if x10 is used. I wish to know whether it is true o not... (I will be using the an236 in microchip website, is it applicable? or is there any method to make it applicable?)
