I was reading a sticky about misspelling common component words such as resistor. Well can you just browse through the pages and whenever you see a word which is misspelled alot then add it to the list of restricted words and create the right spelling for it.

The admin of this site should be able to do that. Its just like blocking a bad word and replacing it like the f word is now ****.

The admin can go into his adminstation panel and add to the list of words.

or if he visits the phpbb.com forums im sure there is an addon feature for spell checking.

Yes, that can be done but the problem is that when you search for a work like resister it will only list the posts with it spelt correctly. Doing a replace will not help that.
