TI has 8 parts that will do 5A with internal MOSFETs. very simple. Use two in parallel.

Just for make sure, this should have following,

.OVR protection
OCR protection
"ENABLE" Signal
"FAULT" signal
1 LED indication.

The newer chips offers a lot of options.
