what wireless technology do you want to use? RF (Radio Frequency)? IR (infrared)?

Please be more specific.

This is something that we could use as well. RF would be great. Something with a bit of power. We are working on a system that needs to transmit data to receivers in a 200k sqft building with nine floors.

You could use an RF module that you could integrate in your design/application. The uC communicates via the RS232 (no need for MAX232).

(a search in google will give you more results)

For more details you have to read the datasheet of the corresponding RF module.

Have fun.

(you have to check with the legislation of your country for the available frequencies)
