Who's afraid of soldering 100pin TQFPs?

Well I've done 64pin TQFPs by hand and it's not so bad.

I'm considering doing my first surface mount kit, and the big beast will either contain a 64 or 100pin TQFP 0.4mm pitch PIC32.

Obviously an advanced kit to assemble it'll also be available in assembled form.

So would you buy a kit with a 100pin TQFP? Would you pay extra for a Schmartboard version?

I wouldn't be so worried about it. I think the drag method would be exactly the same for the 100 pin as the 64 pin.

100 QFP is no problem. It's not the number of pins so much as how much area per pin is exposed!

Do you mean how large the pad is?
